Praetorian 2011

In this unique, Iberian inspired blend, the Priorat meets the Ribera del Duero to show the true essence of Briarwood vineyard Tempranillo. The initial nose of this blend hints at earthy aromatics and leather before giving way to a virtual spice rack of clove, coriander seed, dried tobacco, and cedar. This wine truly shines on the palate where its taster discovers the flavors of fresh cut rhubarb, spiced plum sauce, and black cherries. The ample tannins of this blend present a firm, rustic example of classic Tempranillo structure. To call this a full bodied wine would be an understatement. Praetorian is a serious wine that is balanced enough to make you take notice immediately, but has the structure to reward those patient enough to cellar it for a decade or more.
