Crux 2015

A brute with an ear for opera. Sweet and brawny, casts a large shadow but speaks soft volumes.

A wine comfortable in its own skin. Blue jeans and work-boots meet “French” tied shoulder cardigan. The nose mimics a Thursday night “come-as-you-are” potluck of red and black fruits, earthy root vegetables, and savory braised meats atop roasted fennel. The palate is where Crux reigns supreme. Thick, rich, seamless, and happily balanced. Flavors of cherry cola, ginger beer, teriyaki, and burnt turmeric are expressed throughout the lengthy and generous mid-palate and meld into a satisfactory finish, like that moment at the end of a fantastic meal where you want to take one more bite.
