Strength. Propulsion. Intricacy. A Japanese puzzle box for the nose, mouth, mind and soul...
Extremely expressive and exuberant; rich spice, fruit and savory notes leap from the glass. Aromas of fig jelly, fresh honeycomb, baked apple turnover and caramel meld with pine resin and exotic violets to create intrigue before the first sip. With a silky smooth entry, the wine glides across the palate with explosive flavors of freshly cooked and candied berries along with a hint of baker’s chocolate.
Subtle, nuanced layers slowly evolve if given the chance. Take your time with this one or you might miss a note or two. 352 cases produced.
2013 is a vintage that will surely produce some of the best wines our Paso Robles area has to offer. Winter 2012 saw lower than average rainfall which led to smaller more intense berries and smaller clusters in most varieties.
The machine-like predictability of the daytime heating and nighttime cooling was amazing and continued into late harvest, which was completed by the end of October. The near perfect growing conditions of 2013 will lead to exceptional wines, a truly remarkable vintage.
