Praetorian is an expression of our love affair with textured tannin and layers of intense flavor. Gritty Tempranillo tannin coupled with broad whole cluster Syrah and Malbec provides a unique and definitive structure while some of our most expressive lots from the vintage provide layers of flavor. While Tempranillo strengthens the Grenache in Mad Crush, in this blend Grenache gives grace and a flavorful veil to the otherwise ostensive Tempranillo lead grape. 2019 carries a unique expression for Praetorian; Aromas and flavors are typically bound up in its syrup-like density and layered profile, but 2019 is young and showy and doesn't seem to require the typical 5-7 years of cellaring to start opening up.
